Code 908 explores the concept of the labyrinth by transposing the labyrinthine experience- bewilderment, surprise, absurdity- into a reinvented Montréal. Inspired by the code for flooding of the metro, this project plays with urban nonsense through a visual and auditory immersion. Spread over 35 screens, three worlds intersect: the city surface, the subterranean networks of Montreal and the depths of its aqueducts. A purple character, present in each scene, brings together these worlds and accentuates the feeling of confusion and strangeness. The auditory landscape, emitted by four speakers and responsive to its visual counterpart, amplifies the illusion of displacement in this urban maze. Code 908 invites the public to willingly lose themselves in a loop where reality tips over into the imaginary.
